Tyrone L. Robinson is a freelance director and writer for stage and film. His work has been seen on stages at The Kennedy Center, New York’s Public Theatre, and in film festivals nationwide including the New York Short, Harlem International, Hudson Shorts, LGBTQ Shorts, Atlanta Shortsfest, Big Muddy, and RKDS Film Festivals.
He holds a MFA in Writing from NYU Tisch School of the Arts where he found his voice for narrative and comedy writing after being recruited by the Chris Rock Comedy Central Network Television Writing Program.
Tyrone’s passion for directing is rooted in his love of people, storytelling, world building, and collaboration. He comes to directing after a long Broadway/Television acting career and is an ASCAP Frederick Loewe, Joseph Jefferson, and Evelyn Russell Layton award winner.
